James Etengu has experience as a senior revenue officer, principal revenue officer, regional manager for Domestic taxes in the eastern region of Uganda, a trainer in domestic taxes (income tax) and also as an income tax assessor.
Etengu James is a seasoned tax consultant with over 20 years of experience in Uganda’s tax sector. He has Diploma in Income Tax Administration as well as a Bachelors’ Degree in Statistics from Makerere University. He has worked with the Uganda Revenue Authority under different departments since the year 1992 to 2020.
He has been a mentor at several conferences and workshops such as Training of Trainers Course (African Capacity Development and Research Institute), Competence in Leadership (GEAR), Negotiations of tax treaties(African Tax Administration Forum. Pretoria, South Africa) and may other conferences and seminars. Via language skills his specialty is English, Kiswahilli and Ateso.
